The results of HeatTank Intelligent Thermal Batteries are already being enjoyed in many places in Hungary and Europe. However, the Intelligent Thermal Battery can be applied not only in continental climates, but also in different parts of the world, for example in desert climates.
We are proud to announce that we have successfully installed a system of 4 pcs of Thermal Batteries in the Middle East to improve the energy efficiency of hotel building cooling.
The system aims to save electricity and optimise the cooling system.
Overall cooling need: 2 400 kW
Expected saving: 283 000 kWh
Now, same as in the hotel in Hungary presented in the previous article; to determine energy savings, we select reference days where the external factors were similar and the Thermal battery worked in one case and not in the other.
The chart presents the daily electricity consumption with and without the Intelligent Thermal Battery in the function of Mean external temperature.
The trends show that consumption is higher at higher external temperatures in both cases, but significant results can be achieved with the Intelligent Thermal Battery.
If no heat quantity measurement is installed in the system, other factors are used to determine the reference day pairs. Since it is a hotel building, the cooling electricity consumption is influenced by the number of guests (how many rooms were occupied on a given day) and the number of guests in the restaurant and conference room.
The following diagram illustrates the daily cooling electricity consumption during the measured period with and without the Thermal Battery.
The energy savings achieved with the Intelligent Thermal Battery over the measured period was 13.4%.
